Fitness can be described as a good state of overall health and well-being. It could also be described as a state of mind. There’s being physically fit, which, of course, varies from person to person and activity to activity, as well as being mentally fit, which, again, will tend to vary significantly. It might involve exercise or meditation or possibly both. It will probably have something to do with proper nutrition and getting adequate sleep as well. In general though, it’s fair to say that fitness is as unique as the person trying to attain it.
Your success rate will be higher if you choose an activity that you like. A lot of things count as exercise: surfing, walking, gardening, cycling, yoga, even dancing. If you enjoy the activity, it’s more likely that you’ll enjoy doing it with the sort of regularity required to improve your overall fitness. It also helps to do it with a friend.
Fitness can require nothing more than a little mental resolve or an entire gym outfitted with specialized machines and contraptions. In other words, gear varies. Check with your instructor.
